For the 26th time, Polish Radio 1030 Chicago and TV Polvision are sponsoring a Christmas gathering for those who are lonely, elderly, or homeless, who wish to share the opłatek (Christmas wafer) in the company of kind people on this day that is so special for all of us.
The celebration is led by the pastor of St. Hyacinth Basilica, Fr. Stanisław Jankowski. As every year, the Christmas Eve is organized with the help of, among others, the Friends of Ełk Club, Chicagowskie Sokoły, other Polish community organizations, and dozens of volunteers.
According to tradition, the Christmas Eve for the Lonely and Homeless will take place on December 24 – this year it falls on a Wednesday. We will meet at 12:00 PM in Resurrection Hall right next to the Basilica.
We will pray together, share the opłatek, sing Christmas carols, and everyone will receive a Christmas package prepared by people of good will.
