Prayer for every day
Most Sacred Heart of the Savior, in my many worries and sufferings I turn to You with childlike trust and beg for help and rescue. I hope that You will hear me, for You have said: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28). Therefore I come to You and beg through the merits of Your Passion, through the intercession of the Most Holy Mother and all Your Saints, grant me the grace for which I ask You…
Day 1
O Jesus, You loved me so much that You came down from heaven and took on human misery even unto death, and that death on a cross, in order to save me. I desire to respond to Your love with love. Enkindle therefore in my heart the desire for Your most fervent love and allow me to love You above all things. Amen.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, be my love.
Day 2
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I desire to be Your disciple and faithfully fulfill the commandment of love of neighbor. Make me, O Jesus, rid myself of egoism, and learn to imitate You in the love of neighbor. May I love those closest to me and offer them help in difficult moments of life. With my love I wish to embrace all people I meet in life, even my enemies. Amen.
Heart of Jesus, awaken in my heart a true love for my neighbors.
Day 3
Jesus, You said: “Learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart.” My Lord, destroy in me pride and vanity, and grant me humility and meekness. Help me to introduce these virtues into my life, that I may receive the blessing promised in the Sermon on the Mount: “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” Amen.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Yours.
Day 4
Jesus, out of love for me You became obedient unto death on a cross. Teach me obedience to Your will and faithfulness to the teaching of Your Church. Help me, especially in the difficult moments of my life, to humbly submit myself to Your will. Amen.
Lord, not my will, but Yours be done.
Day 5
Most patient Heart of the Savior, You accepted in silence all insults, abuses, and humiliations; help me to master anger and impatience. Teach me calmness and patience, so that from now on, out of love for You, I may accept the hardships and sufferings that You allow to fall upon me. Amen.
Most patient Heart of Jesus, help me acquire the virtue of patience.
Day 6
Divine Heart of Jesus, for our salvation You offered Yourself to Your Father for our sins. Deign to fill my heart with sacrificial love. Let me not be indifferent to the needs of the Church and my neighbors, but within my means, let me serve them with help. Amen.
Heart of Jesus, victim for our sins, grant me the spirit of sacrifice and dedication.
Day 7
Most Sacred Heart of the Savior, You did everything to save us. Help me reciprocate to You with faithfulness in fulfilling Your commandments and my duties that I have to fulfill in this life. Help me, Lord, not to waste the gifts received from You, but let me strive to use every day for Your glory and the salvation of my soul. Amen.
Heart of Jesus, help me to be Your faithful servant.
Day 8
Heart of Jesus, my God, You chose for Yourself on earth not honors and wealth, but work in suffering and poverty. I ask You, Jesus, that I may worthily imitate You in poverty and diligence. Let me not waste much time on entertainment and pleasures, but through work and prayer let me faithfully serve God and people. Amen.
O Jesus, teach me to always walk the path of virtue.
Day 9
Jesus Christ, after finishing Your life on earth You departed to prepare a dwelling place for us in heaven. Grant us this grace, that we may remember that we are pilgrims on this earth and not attach ourselves too much to it and to temporal matters. May we, through a good life, deserve to be received into our heavenly Homeland, where we will praise Your Most Sacred Heart forever. Amen.

Divine Heart of Jesus, deign to accept the humble tribute of worship that I have tried to offer You in this novena. May my heart, cleansed from sins and all faults in the sacrament of penance, be adorned with the virtues for which I have asked. Grant me also the special grace…, for which I have fervently begged You during these days. And if Your will is otherwise, give me to understand it and accept it without rebellion and murmuring.
